On Thursday, November 20, at 6:30 p.m., Michael Anthony’s FoodBar in Wading River is hosting a Speakeasy Beer Dinner. While the five-course menu is still a secret, what isn’t is the 1920s theme surrounding this event. Staff will be dressed as flappers or gangsters and the dishes will be designed around that theme as well. The Speakeasy Beer Company of San Francisco will provide beer for the evening. Red and white wine will also be available.
The FoodBar is family-owned: Michael Anthony is the executive chef and his daughter runs the of the front of house. Individually they are very charismatic; together the run a restaurant where they support and complement one another. Everyone feel at home and they do their best to take their themed evenings as seriously as possible; take, for example, their Halloween in Gotham, when every member of the staff came in costume.
1920s dress is not required, but it is recommended. The FoodBar is offering everyone in appropriate dress a $20 gift certificate for their next visit. Space is limited, so reservations are required.
