Taylor Knapp, former chef at First and South and founder of Peconic Escargot, wanted to keep busy while the restaurant took a winter break. (It reopens April 3.) So he set about organizing a pop-up restaurant at Aldo’s on Monday nights. One seating and five courses with a hyper local, forage theme for $65 a head.

Guess he didn’t foresee that for four weeks in a row, winter storm warnings and blizzards would keep the foodie faithful home. Then the venue underwent a change but now, with the knowledge that the first day of spring is four weeks away and a solid space at Bruce & Son around the corner, the restaurant is up and running again.
